AC&T Education Migration’s Story
Ownership Over the Stack, the Data, and the Worklow
AC&T Education Migration is an education agency based in Australia. They help international students with their applications to education providers and to get their visas. They’ve been using their previous obsolete CRM until the vendor decided to shut down their system. They were left with nothing but a CSV export.

Manual CSV Export
Automated CRM
They started looking for replacements: Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive and SUITECRM. Each was too expensive, too rigid or too generic. They didn’t want to redo their whole process just to end up stuck in another box. What they needed was something they could actually own.

Joseph Chiang, a longtime engineer friend, stepped in to help. He set them up with Twenty—an open-source CRM they could run themselves, shape to their needs and rely on.
It wasn’t just about saving money. It was also about never being in the same situation again. No vendor risk, no forced structure, just a system that fits how they work:
Automated email reminders powered by Twenty and Github Actions for important dates. (Twenty workflows were not yet available at that time)
A simple interface—adding a new record only takes less than a minute now
Custom Data Model Built Around Students' Needs

“They want the status to be current when the school starts and they don’t want to maintain it manually. So a workflow runs everyday at 3am to update that.” —Joseph Chiang
The results were immediate.
Reducing >90% of the cost
With no noise. No delays. No surprises.
They didn’t just replace a CRM. They got peace of mind— a system they’ll never lose again.
“They didn’t want to learn someone else’s system. They wanted to keep working the way they already did—and make it smoother.”
